Our Milestones
Since 2006, Rapidobject has evolved from an early 3D printing pioneer into an industry partner for additive manufacturing, quality, and knowledge transfer. These milestones chart our journey—and what we stand for today.
2006
Beginnings as a pioneer in 3D printing
Rapidobject entered the dynamic 3D printing market in 2006 and quickly established itself as a partner for industrial applications—among other achievements, Rapidobject launched the world’s first 3D printing online store, where customers could easily and quickly manage and order their 3D models. This innovative spirit and future potential were recognized with a nomination for the Exciting Commerce Star award.
2010

Quality management as a foundation
With its first ISO 9001 certification, Rapidobject is laying the groundwork for standardized processes and consistent quality—a must for industrial projects.
2013

Realityservice is becoming rapidobject
Rebranding and a clearer brand identity: Realityservice becomes rapidobject GmbH—sharpening the focus on professional 3D printing solutions. Another major milestone for us that same year: During her visit to CeBIT, Angela Merkel received a 3D-printed model that was designed and printed in-house at rapidobject.
2015
A Step Toward Growth: Relocation & More Production Space
The move to 84 Weißenfelser Straße creates space for the team, machinery, and growing industrial demands.
2016
Expanded expertise in metalworking
With the acquisition of a new metal 3D printer, rapidobject is expanding its industrial manufacturing capabilities for aluminum components.
2017

Data Security & Quality at TÜV Standards
In addition to ISO 9001 certification, ISO 27001 certification for information security further strengthens processes, data security, and supply chain security for demanding industrial customers.
In-house R&D department
With its own department dedicated to internal research and development, Rapidobject is building up expertise to actively advance processes, applications, and materials—“more than just manufacturing.”
what makes us who we are
More than just 3D printing
Three guiding principles that continue to shape our development to this day.
Quality & Standards
Certified processes and clear standards have been the cornerstone of our business for years—ensuring consistent quality and reliable operations
Research & Development
We also develop expertise through our own R&D and partner projects that advance additive manufacturing.
Knowledge & Professional Development
We share practical experience—through workshops, training sessions, and as an AZAV-accredited training provider.
2018
Knowledge transfer begins with a series of workshops
Rapidobject is launching a series of workshops for beginners and advanced users—to help companies adopt additive manufacturing more quickly and confidently.
Rapidobject is heading into space
The 3D-printed book hero Major Tom arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) in 2018. The hand-painted figure flew to the ISS on SpaceX-14 in April to accompany the Horizons mission. In total, the 3D-printed model orbited Earth 3,000 times, covering over 130 million kilometers. In January 2019, the 3D-printed model returned to Earth aboard the SpaceX-16 capsule.
2020

Another certified quality standard
Rapidobject is one of the first service providers in Germany to be certified to DIN SPEC 17071—an important step toward quality-assured additive manufacturing processes.
2022
10 Years of Partnership with UEFA EURO
For the past ten years, rapidobject has been delivering 3D highlight solutions for UEFA EURO—ranging from small to very large projects, depending on the requirements and process.
2023

Making sustainability measurable
With Global Climate, the carbon footprint is tracked using data, and genuine reduction measures are prioritized—rather than relying solely on offsetting
Opening of the Glass 3D Factory
2024
On July 3, 2024, rapidobject will open its publicly accessible, company-run Transparent 3D Factory—a venue for insights, exchange, and training in the field of additive manufacturing.
2025
AZAV accreditation as an educational institution
Rapidobject is accredited as a training provider under the AZAV and offers accredited continuing education programs—a logical step toward systematically imparting industry expertise.
