Exhibition model for presenting future concepts
Trade show model · Product and technology concepts · Functional model · Prototyping
To clearly communicate a forward-looking logistics and transportation concept, Rapidobject created a fully functional trade show model.
The model allows trade show visitors and investors to directly visualize complex processes and intuitively grasp key functionalities.

Initial situation
New technologies and forward-looking concepts often require explanation—especially when the focus is on processes, automation, or internal workflows.
As part of a research and development project, the goal was not only to visualize an innovative freight train concept but also to bring it to life in a way that could be experienced firsthand.
The goal was therefore to develop a robust, detailed tactile model that:
- clearly illustrates the entire structure
- also offers a glimpse inside
- is permanently accessible to the public
Challenge
The goal was to develop a trade show model that:
- highlights the core features of the concept
- complex processes simplified in an easy-to-understand way
- is sturdy enough for use at trade shows
- does not require any visual aids
A purely static model would not have adequately conveyed the level of interaction and innovation.
Our Solution
Rapidobject revised the existing design data to scale and used it to develop a functional trade show model.
Special attention was paid to depicting the automated loading processes.
These were implemented in the model using integrated rollers and moving parts to clearly illustrate the process.
The combination of additive manufacturing, model making, and functional integration made it possible to create a vivid and durable presentation model.
