What is rapidobject.com?
Rapidobject.com is a platform for artists, designers and developers to transform 3D data into real prototypes quickly and cost-efficiently. Order models for presentations, counters, avatars or art sculptures online easily and comfortably.
Simply upload your 3D file after registering in the rapidobject shop.
Your 3D data will then be manufactured as physical objects and comfortably delivered to your address.

Who is behind rapidobject.com?
Rapidobject.com is a service offered by Realityservice GmbH. With Rapidobject.com, the Leipzig-based company has made an innovative technology service accessible to the general public. Now anybody can produce any object in the world according to their personal taste.
What do I need to do to create my own 3D graphics and have them printed by rapidobject.com?
Transforming a sketch into a 3D model first requires a set of 3D data. To do that, you need a so-called 3D modeling package such as, for example, AutoCAD, Cinema 4D or 3D Studio MAX.
We use the .stl format as our standard format, which describes the external shape of a 3D object within a grid of triangles. Colored models are produced with the help of the VRML format, which contains an additional specification for a colored surface texture. Both file formats can be exported from established 3D programs.
Please contact our team if you have special requests for the production of 3D models. We will gladly advice you on the options for producing individual 3D models. Our information brochure provides you with the most important facts.

This depends on the object’s complexity and the machines’ capacity utilization. We will provide you with precise information.
What materials are the finished models composed off?
Models consist of a special polymer plaster that is hardened subsequently. Click here for access to information about further production techniques.
Which advantage does the chalky material offer?
Advantages of polymer plaster include, among others, the mapping of fine details and the possibility of creating a multi-colored 3D body.

How do I create an account?
Registering at rapidobject.com requires only few steps:
Start by entering a username and password of your choice as well as your email address in the registration form.
We then just need your full name, date of birth and address. Optionally, you can also upload a link to your website and add alternative contact options or a personal user image.
After accepting our terms and conditions, your account will be established and you will receive an email with an activation link, which you need to click on to confirm registration.
Your account is now activated and ready to use.

Do I commit to purchasing a 3D object by opening an account?
No, of course you do not enter into any obligation to purchase a 3D object. Opening an account allows you to buy objects, upload your own objects, sell and evaluate other users’ objects.
Can I mark my 3D objects as private so that only I can see and order them?
As a matter of principle, all objects of a user are “private”. Only you can decide to make your objects publicly accessible and visible, thus offering them for sale to interested parties. If you wish to keep your objects private they will not appear in the online gallery, however, you can see and order them through your account at any time.

How is the price calculated?
The manufacturer’s price of a model results from the actually used printing volume and the estimated production time. Our team will assist you with optimizing the actual volume.
When will I receive the finished model?
Once you submit a 3D model to rapidobject.com our experts will check the transmitted data. We will notify you by email should there be any issues. The descried process will take approximately two working days.
In case of faultless data production will start upon receiving your payment, approximately within five working days. Once printing has been completed, the object needs to harden for one day and will then be packaged securely and sent to your address.

Which payment options does rapidobject.com offer?
You can pay in advance or via PayPal.

What does the delivery cost?
We pack all models carefully and securely. Our courier service delivers them rapidly and safely to your door. Packaging and delivery amount to 10 Euro within Germany. The costs of international deliveries depend on the country of destination. We will gladly answer your questions about packaging and delivery over the phone or in email.
Data Preparation
What do I need to take into consideration when preparing the data?
Turning a virtual model into a printable file requires precise processing of the transmitted 3D data.
Our 3D printer produces models up to a maximum size of 25x35x20 cm. We can also manufacture larger models by assembling individual components. Nonstructural pieces can have a minimum wall thickness of 1.5 mm. Structural components need to be somewhat bigger (approximately 3 mm).
We use the .stl format as our standard format. Colored models are produced with the help of the VRML format.
All individual components have to be defined as complete bodies. All bodies should be connected to each other without any gaps. Normal bodies should not be inverted and there should be no overlapping of surfaces. The ideally prepared model is thus transformed into an airtight body.

Font appears more defined on objects than on texture. Conversely, the smallest printable font measures 6 points and is barely readable.

The retail price results from the manufacturer’s price plus any commission charged by a user for selling a model.
If you order a model for your own use you will only pay the manufacturer’s price and the delivery costs.
The manufacturer’s price is calculated after checking your data and generating a preview. We will also inform you about any issues your model might have and correct them with your approval.
In the model overview section of your account, you can track the status of this process. There you will also find the manufacturer’s price as well as relevant information on your model.
Should you wish to offer your model to other parties for sale you are free to add a commission. This builds your retail price.
Thus, you can freely determine the final price of the model you created. Deduct our manufacturing price from your retail price and the rest is your profit.
